Free Income Tax Assistance

Inland Empire United Way is working with Cal State San Bernardino, Cal Poly Pomona and Union Bank of California to offer FREE tax preparation for low-income taxpayers. Trained student volunteers help prepare and file your taxes, and save you money through tax credits such as Earned Income Tax Credit (also known as EITC). Visit one of the following VITA locations in your area. No appointment necessary.  All adults on your return need to be present to sign forms.

Remember the following material when you visit the VITA site to have your taxes prepared:

  • A Social Security card for each family member. There are NO exceptions to this rule.
  • A valid California ID
  • Voided bank check for automatic deposit (All taxes are filed electronically and can be directly deposited into your account.)
  • A copy of last year’s return
  • All items listed that apply to your family:
          - W-2 forms for all jobs worked in 2006
          - All 1099 forms for other income, if any
          - Child care provider name, address, and tax ID number
          - Any other tax-related documents you have received
